Six public information sessions on the General Management Plan for Gateway will be held in August; comments on the plan are being accepted until September 21. It is crucial that concerned citizens speak out and demand that the plan protect critical wildlife habitat within Gateway.

The outdoor information sessions will take place at all three units of Gateway: Sandy Hook, New Jersey; Jacob Riis Park, Queens; and Great Kills Park on Staten Island. Two sessions will be held at each site. NYC Audubon will provide transportation to the Jacob Riis Park sessions on August 4 and 10, as well as a free bird walk; see below to register for those trips.

At Sandy Hook, N.J. (Lot D/Sea Gull's Nest, Hartshorne Drive):
Friday, August 3, 11am-3pm
Wednesday, August 8, 3-7pm

At Jacob Riis Park, Queens:
Saturday, August 4, 11am-3pm
Friday, August 10, 11am-3pm

At Great Kills Park, Staten Island:
Sunday, August 5, 11am-3pm
Saturday, August 11, 11am-3pm
